My New Favorite Song

The words are just so beautiful...

How can I tell you that I love you, I love you
but I can't think of right words to say
I long to tell you that I'm always thinking of you
I'm always thinking of you, but my words
just blow away, just blow away
It always ends up to one thing, honey
and I can't think of right words to say
Wherever I am girl, I'm always walking with you
I'm always walking with you, but I look and you're not there
Whoever I'm with, I'm always, always talking to you
I'm always talking to you, and I'm sad that
you can't hear, sad that you can't hear
It always ends up to one thing, honey,
when I look and you're not there
I need to know you, need to feel my arms around you
feel my arms surround you, like a sea around a shore
and -- each night and day I pray, in hope
that I might find you, in hope that I might
find you, because heart's can do no more
It always ends up to one thing honey, still I kneel upon the floor
How can I tell you that I love you, I love you
but I can't think of right words to say
I long to tell you that I'm always thinking of you
I'm always thinking of you....
It always ends up to one thing honey
and I can't think of right words to say

Just in case

To my children,

Oh, how I love you! I've wanted each of you since before you were conceived. But from that moment, when you became real to this world, and with each step after, I've loved you more than the moment before. I remember hearing your heartbeats, feeling you move within me, seeing your sweet faces for the first time, marveling at all your milestones, loving your voices, you mannerisms, your unique personalities. I am so proud of who you are already, though you are all still very young. I am amazed at your potential. I see endless possibilities for your lives and I hope that you will be able to see them too. My wish for you all is to live honest lives. I want you to be completely transparent - with yourselves and with others - so that no path is followed to please another and no door is closed by someone other than God.

Molly - You are so smart and strong willed and have such amazing leadership potential. I've seen you walk into a room of strangers and have them follow your lead within minutes. Don't let your pride get in the way of your relationships with people. Learn to admit your mistakes - to laugh at your mistake - to realize that you are, like everyone else in this world, a flawed creature - yet you are wonderfully made - just who God wanted you to be. If you can let other people laugh at you - if you can laugh at yourself and not let it bother you - you will draw people to you with your humbleness. Stand up for what you believe is right, walk the path that you want to walk, but don't walk over people to meet your goals. Talk to them, draw them in, persuade them, listen to them, learn from them and walk along side them in your journey. Be kind, even when people make you angry. Your kindness in strength, humbleness in leadership will make others want to help you achieve your goals.

Maggie - I believe you have a heart for people. You are sensitive to other people's desires and disappointments. But don't let your desire to please people - to make them happy - cause you to lose yourself. Know yourself. Know what truly makes you happy and sad and angry. Come along side people and help them, but don't follow blindly behind them. You have a gift of making people laugh - of lightening a serious situation - of easing tensions with subtle humor. Don't lose your lightness of heart. God is sovereign. We truly have nothing to fear. Let that light inside your hear shine.

Lorelei - You are the most unfettered child I've ever known. If I could wish one thing for you it would be that you'd never allow yourself to be boxed in by other people's opinions. Try things, even when everyone says it's impossible. See 'outside the box', at all the possibilities, not just the most common ones. Set goals that challenge you and keep trying to reach them no matter how many times you fail. But do not ignore the wisdom of others. Take into consideration the experiences of those who have gone before you. Learn all you can from the people around you and be prudent, even as you are fearless.

Liam - My sweet baby boy. God has given you different responsibilities than the girls. He has charged you with leadership even though you may not want it. Keep your heart soft, my son. Never let anger or bitterness control your actions or your words. Care for people, love people, protect your sisters and stand up for those who have no protector. Be strong and passionate, wild and free, but keep those you love close your heart and be available to those who need you.

Be honest, children. Honest with yourselves, honest with God and honest with other people. Be transparent. Admit your mistakes, admit your sins, explore your feelings, your desires, your likes and dislikes. Don't follow the crowd - be who you are and be proud of the person God has created. If you're looking for truth, read the Bible, but don't believe in God because your parents or grandparents do. Believe in Jesus because you have met him, because he is real to you, because you know that he is the way, the truth and the life. In all things, be honest. Even if there are consequences you'd rather not face, even if it means hurting someone because of your selfishness, even if it means your future is suddenly not so certain - do not stay committed to a path because it is expected of you. If you follow the path God has laid out before you, each of you can change the world.

I love you so much. You are each a part of me - I would not be who I am if it weren't for you. I am a better person because of you. I better understand God's love for me because of my love for you. You are each a gift from God, to me and to this world.
