Day two of "trial" school. "Real" school doesn't start until next Tuesday, but I thought I might get a feel for it this week. I wasn't actually planning on doing it today because I didn't feel like it, but my kids wanted to! Trust me to cop out first. Even when they were complaining and I gave them the option to quit they wouldn't do it. I actually had to pry the workbook out of Maggie's hands when we had to stop because Lorelei woke up. I guess that's a good sign.
It's giving me a new appreciation for how smart Molly is. And how quickly she picks up on things. Maggie is having absolutely no problem with the Preschooler things, so I may go back to Ollies and pick up some Kindergarten books for her. As I suspected, it's more of an issue of attitude for both of the girls. I'm not sure how Molly would act in an outside classroom environment, but given how she's been in Sunday School, my guess would be not well. She has such a defeatist attitude and I really don't know where she gets it from because Bob and I have always stressed trying and that making mistakes is ok. Maggie picks up on Molly's attitude and mimics it, which is more frustrating than the original. I'll have to make a sign: "Trying is more important than getting it right." (Although, even as I say it I wonder, is that true? Lol!) Anyway, I guess so far I'm pleased with the schooling process, though it's pretty tiring for me.
ttfn!
